WHAT KIND OF SPIRIT?
They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.
2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain.
4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him.
7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
Most time we think the solution to our problem is somewhere out there, whereas it is somewhere in there- inside our system because one of the things that controls our lives and determine how things will be is the kind of spirit we have received.
Our spirit determines if not all, almost everything we have and everything we will become. The kind of spirit determines our action and reaction. And our spirit could either be pure or impure, clean or unclean. This determine how our life will be.
It determines how we relate to the world as a whole around us and how the world in turn relates with us.
The man with an unclean spirit at Gerasenes had an unclean spirit. And his relationship with the earth (the tombs, mountains, hills and stones) was not awful because he would cry out and cut himself night and day Mark 5:5.
HOwever when he saw Jesus, who was the light, he ran and bowed down to him. after a while Jesus rebuked the spirit tormenting him to be cast out!
Later on, we found out that he was relaxed and i his right mind.
Whatever spirt that has kept you imbalaced emotionally, physically or mentally may, I command it to be cast out in Jesus mignty name!
